FHS forensics fourth in nation

Farragut High School students placed fourth in the nation at SkillsUSA. After placing first state-wide, the team headed to Kansas City, Mo. to compete against other first-place high school teams in forensic investigation for the 2009-2010 school year. The students, David Richardson, right, Paige Kula, not pictured, and Allison Devaney, left, were part of a three person crime scene investigation team. They were given a scenario: an assault with a firearm and an impounded vehicle as evidence. It was their job to process the crime scene. The team was judged for properly collecting and removing evidence of the crime. The team was required to lift latent fingerprints from an item of evidence, draw a crime scene sketch, mark the evidence and write a report detailing their actions. FHS teacher-sponsor is Guy DeMarco.
