• Third annual THE MAN RUN for Prostate Cancer Awareness features a 5K run and a one-mile fun walk that honors prostate cancer survivors and supports free prostate cancer screenings and educational programs by The University of Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Institute. • Inaugural Knoxville Free to Breathe 5K Run/1 Mile Walk begins at 8:15 a.m. (walk) and 8:30 a.m. (run) Saturday, Oct. 16, in Village Green subdivision, Jamestowne Boulevard. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. Proceeds help support National Lung Cancer Partnership’s vital research, education and awareness programs. • Beginning this fall, Farragut Baseball, Inc. announces Mickey Mantle and Connie Mack leagues will return.
