BOMA sets committee member attendance parameters

All members of any Town committees now have the same attendance policy: three strikes and you’re out.

Farragut’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the new attendance policy, which automatically dismisses committee members after their third missed meeting in a fiscal year.

“We wanted to set requirements that are uniform to all committees,” Town recorder Allison Myers said.

Any committee member who is dismissed after three absences can reapply to the Board if he or she so desires.

The new policy was unanimously approved.

In other business, the Board:

• Approved a contract for stabilization at Park Place Subdivision to Erosion Solutions, LLC, for the low bid of $25,930

The stabilization will be paid for through a letter of credit from the subdivision’s developer for $32,500.

• Approved participation in the Sustainable Communities Regional Planning grant

• Approved signage for Knoxville News Sentinel Open Event Signage

• Approved the annual TML “Safety Partners” loss control matching grant program

• Approved, on first reading, an amendment to Farragut Municipal Code to allow a second wall sign for any commercial building that has no paved surface in the front yard, or the yard facing the roadway
