• First to the Top...Now What?, a town hall style forum hosted by Knox County Council PTA, will feature State Sen. Jamie Woodson, Dr. Tim Webb, Brad Smith, Knox County School Superintendent Dr. James McIntyre, and moderator John Becker, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 27, at the Andrew Johnson Building, 912 Gay St. The general public is invited.

• Pellissippi State Community College’s Business and Community Services has partnered with ed2go to offer hundreds of online, instructor-facilitated courses. The courses are entirely Web-based and include comprehensive lessons, quizzes and assignments. To learn more about “Nonprofit Fundraising Essentials,” visit or call 865-539-7167.

• Roane State Community College campuses will offer extended business hours to assist students with admissions and registration. Hours at the Oak Ridge, Knox County, Loudon County campuses will be 8 a.m. -– 6:30 p.m., Aug. 23-26 and Aug. 30-Sept. 2. Fees for fall semester courses are due no later than Aug. 27. Fall classes begin Aug. 28. Prospective students who have not applied for admission are encouraged to contact the Student Enrollment and Recruitment Office at 865-882-4554.
