• “First to The Top ... Now What,” a town hall style forum hosted by Knox County Council PTA, will feature Senator Jamie Woodson, Dr. Tim Webb, Mr. Brad Smith, Dr. James McIntyre and moderator John Becker will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 27, at the Andrew Johnson Building, 912 Gay St. The public is invited to attend. • Miranda Parham, a resident of Knoxville and a first year at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, is listed on the honor roll. To be listed on the SMU honor roll, students must be in the top 15 percent of their school of record. SMU’s 2009-2010 enrollment included 11,832 undergraduate students. • Roane State Community College campuses will offer extended business hours to assist students with admissions and registration. Hours at the Roane County, Oak Ridge, Campbell County, Knox County, Loudon County, Morgan County and Scott County campuses will be 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m., EDT, Aug. 30-Sept. 2. The Cumberland County campus will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., CDT, on those dates, and the Fentress County campus will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., CDT. In addition, the Roane County and Oak Ridge campuses will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, EDT. Fees for fall semester courses are due no later than Aug. 27 to avoid a $20 late fee. Fall classes begin Aug. 28.
