• “The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot About That,” a new series by PBS Kids and Random House designed to support science learning for preschoolers, premieres on East Tennessee PBS at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 6. Voiced by award-winning actor Martin Short, Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat” guides friends Sally and Nick on fun-filled adventures where they make natural-science discoveries, from how bees make honey to why owls sleep during the day.
• Isotone Concert Series enters its third season with two concerts planned for 3 p.m., Sundays, Sept. 19 and Jan. 30, 2011.
