Westgate hosted Convoy of Hope Golf Tourney

More than 60 golfers, along with many sponsors, helped raise more than $8,000 for charity as Westgate Christian Fellowship, 416 N. Campbell Station Road, sponsored 2nd Annual Convoy of Hope Golf Tournament Saturday, May 20, at Egwani Golf Course in Blount County.

Proceeds benefit Convoy of Hope, “a non-profit organization that provides millions of dollars in relief aid wherever disasters strike, agricultural aid and expertise to help the poor provide sustainable food sources, empower and equip women to become entrepreneurs in remote villages and regions, as well as feeding hundreds of thousands of children around the world every day,” a church press release stated. “We want to thank Egwani Farms for hosting the event, as well as Bloomer Insurance, Tile by Michael, Elite Heating and Cooling, Dr. Timothy E. Bell, D.O. Osteopath, Car Mart South, and many individual donors for helping to sponsor the event,” a church press release stated. “When asked about future Tournaments for Convoy of Hope, the Rev. Mark Steinbach, lead pastor at Westgate Christian Fellowship said,

“We have plans to develop and expand this Golf Tournament in 2024, as the proceeds are going to an organization that is impacting the world in so many tangible and powerful ways, each and every day.”
