Vining joins Visit Farragut

Kristi Vining recently joined the Visit Farragut program as its new part-time tourism assistant.

“This position is a great fit for me,” said Vining, born and raised in Thomaston, Georgia, who moved to Farragut with her family in 2014 and who holds a degree in Public Relations from the University of Georgia. “I enjoy traveling and the tourism industry, and it’s easy to promote Farragut because it is such a beautiful gem. I feel very blessed to be here.

“We love the nice people, beautiful neighborhoods, fantastic parks and the great schools,” added the new employee, active in Farragut’s Parent Teacher Associations and Parent Teacher Organizations while also serving as a Girl Scout Leader. “We enjoy the lake and the proximity to university excitement and downtown Knoxville options.”

Vining oversees all aspects of ARPA funding, for which she will create spending and reimbursement plans to ensure proper use of the monies, already being earmarked for initiatives including a wayfinding plan, an ambassador program and a Visit Farragut Visitors Guide, among others.

Having served as public information officer for the City of Newnan, Georgia, handling internal and external communications for Newnan’s mayor, city council, and city staff, she is now tasked with duties that include coordinating the Visit Farragut newsletter, the annual hospitality luncheon and the summer concert series.

“Kristi has been a great addition to our program, her prior experience and insight from working with a local government in Georgia, have been helpful in her role with the Town,” said Karen Tindal, Tourism manager. “And her experiences with the Farragut PTOs and community organizations gave her a love for the Farragut community that has carried right into her work with the tourism team.”
