Flour Power closes doors in Farragut

Flour Power cooking studio has closed.

The business, mainly geared toward teaching children and teens, also welcomed adults and others in the community since opening in 2019 at the corner of Lovell Road and Kingston Pike near Costco.

It is unclear why the business has closed, but the announcement was made last week in an e-mail to its clients. And in a follow up e-mail, owner Kelly Longmire shared the following with farragutpress:

“It is with a heavy heart that we have closed Flour Power Knoxville,” she said. “Since 2019 we have enjoyed teaching the smiling faces that walked through our door. We have been blessed beyond measure with the outpouring of support in the Farragut and surrounding communities.

“I have always believed in the concept of Flour Power, and myself and my staff worked so very hard at building relationships with every customer, family member and friend that came in,” Longmire added. “This is proven by the number of phone calls, e-mails, and text messages we have gotten since we announced the closure. For that I say thank you.

“We not only taught our guests, but in many cases learned with them! We all have so many happy memories and stories about Flour Power Knoxville. Please understand this was a very difficult decision and I realize this will have an impact on my customers, new and old. I could not have done any of this without my amazing staff, and I am equally sad to have to say goodbye to everyone involved.

“I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused anyone. Someday we hope to bring Flour Power back to Knoxville, but for now this is what we have to do.”
