• Greenway School invites interested families to tour and meet the faculty at a Visitors' Open House on Sunday, October 10, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. A fully-accredited, private, independent middle schoo – grades six through eight -- Greenway is now enrolling for fall of 2011. In classes of only 10 to 14 students, the college-track curriculum is taught by experienced, licensed teachers in a nurturing environment. Greenway provides hands-on learning in all subjects, a laptop computer to every student, and free after-school care. Students are encouraged to advance to their highest level. •University of Tennessee and Hardin Valley Academy chemistry departments will host a lecture series. Talks by UT Chemistry professors on the real-world applications of chemistry. Monday, Oct. 4th (MPR) 7:30p.m., Dr. Louis Guiochon - Using Chemistry to Improve Health. Tuesday, Nov. 9th (MPR) 7:30p.m., Dr. Georges Guiochon - What is that Stuff? How do you Find Out? Tuesday, Jan. 18th (In Auditorium) 7:30p.m., Dr. John Bartmess - Living with Chemicals Everywhere. Tuesday, Feb. 8th (In Auditorium) 7:30p.m., Dr. Craig Barnes - Dioxygen: A Unique Molecule. Tuesday March 8th (In Auditorium) 7:30p.m., Dr. Mike Best - Something in Organic Chemistry. Tuesday, April 12th (In Auditorium) 7:30p.m., Dr. Bob Compton - Buckyballs.
