Hawks destroy Campbell Co.


The Hardin Valley Hawks defeated the Campbell County Cougars 56-21 Friday, Sept. 17, at home in the Hawks’ highest scoring game in team history.

Hawks head coach Wes Jones said, “We have never come close to scoring that many points in a football game. We made some big plays. [Dorian] Eskridge had a great first half and Josh Krebs made two huge plays for us.”

Eskridge, who ended with four touchdowns, started the first half with a bang, running 60 yards in two plays to score in the first 30 seconds of play.

Two minutes later he struck again with a 49-yard TD run.


Eskridge. who said his linemen “did their thing ... as usual,” picked up another six points late in the half, and then six more early in the third quarter.

Senior Trey Byrd picked up his first touchdown of the season from one yard out.

Krebs picked up 18 points of his own against CCHS, starting with a 14-yard pass by quarterback Jake Bishop late in the second quarter. Early in the fourth, Krebs rushed 64 yards to make the score 42-14.

Krebs struck again on a 60-yard pass from Bishop.Sophomore running bacl Morgan Knight grabbed his first TD of the season.
