Quick Gym features unique weight loss tools

Quick Gym offers more than just a place to exercise quickly and efficiently.

Co-owner Ron Garrett’s goal is to meet all his customers’ weight loss and weight maintenance needs.

Garrett, who has owned Quick Gym with his wife, Sylvia, a registered dietician, since 2007, said, “Studies have shown that diet and exercise make a difference in your overall health. We wanted to give people the opportunity to get a good workout in a short amount of time.”

The business’s namesake is a range-of-motion exercise machine that allows users to get a good workout in four minutes and a full workout in eight minutes.

“Eight minutes is equivalent to a regular workout. Studies have shown that,” Garrett said.

“You burn more calories on it in eight minutes than you do in 45 minutes on a treadmill.

“Most people do eight minutes every other day, front and back, and they are in-and-out in 15 minutes or less,” he added.

The ROM machine takes care of the exercise component, and Herbalife helps with the diet component. There are a wide range of Herbalife products to help customers achieve wellness.

But you don’t have to use the Herbalife products to be a Quick Gym member.

“We’re here to help people. When you come in, we tell you; we don’t sell you. We don’t pressure you into anything because we don’t like that, so we don’t do that to other people,” Garrett said.

Quick Gym also offers body analysis and wellness evaluations, as well as weight loss/wellness classes where, “We talk about everything from protein, good cards, bad carbs, exercise, eating out. We cover the gamut of how people can change their lifestyle and be healthier.”

Quick Gym, located at 12752 Kingston Pike, E102, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturdays. Additional times are available by appointment.

Quick Gym currently is testing a card system to allow members access outside of normal business hours. Garrett hopes to offer this service soon.
