Campbell Station Road opens, officially

Farragut Town officials joined with Steve Borden, Tennessee Department of Transportation Region 1 director, and U.S. Rep. John J. “Jimmy” Duncan Jr. Monday, Dec. 6, for a ribbon cutting to officially open Campbell Station Road. The newly widened road was completed the week of Thanksgiving, and features five lanes, bike lanes and sidewalks. Pictured in the front row, from left, are Town engineer Darryl Smith, Town assistant engineer Chris Jenkins, Town administrator David Smoak, Borden, Duncan, Farragut Mayor Ralph McGill, Farragut Vice Mayor Dot LaMarche and Farragut Alderman Bob Markli. Also pictured are members of TDOT staff and of the project’s contractor, Harrison Construction Company: A Division of APAC-Atlantic, Inc., as well as various Town residents and committee members. Funding for the approximate $8 million widening project came from Surface Transportation Program ($2.6 million), American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ($2.5 million), High Priority Projects ($1.4 million) and the Town’s Capital Investment Funds ( $1.5 million).
