• Upcoming Westside girls and boys high school varsity basketball games Thursday, Dec. 9, through Wednesday, Dec. 15 (all starting with varsity girls at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted): Farragut teams at West, Friday, Dec. 10; home versus William Blount, Tuesday, Dec. 14. Hardin Valley teams at Campbell County, Tuesday, Dec. 14; HVA teams host Halls Dec. 7. Bearden teams host Knoxville Catholic, Friday, Dec. 10; at Alcoa Monday, Dec. 13; at Heritage Dec. 14.

• Bearden Bulldog Dugout Club's Annual Chili Dinner & Silent Auction, running in conjunction with basketball games at BHS versus Knoxville Catholic, is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10, in BHS West Mall and Cafeteria. • CBFO is challenging players, parents and coaches to score some points this basketball season through “Hoops of Hope” donations to Mission of Hope. Donations will be taken from early morning to late afternoon at Farragut Middle School, Farragut Intermediate School and West Valley Middle School. Donations count toward points as CBFO teams compete to win a pizza party.

• Sophomore Charles Leavell (8-1 record in 295 weight class, and senior Connor Johnson (7-3 at 152), have led Farragut High School’s wrestling team to wins versus Elizabethton, 42-18, and West, 36-18, in seven dual matches this year. FHS finished 10th during a recent tourney in Dalton, Ga.
