Scoop TD run by ex-Bulldog Goltry not enough for Wofford in NCAA playoff

Alex Goltry’s late-game defensive heroics for Wofford College weren’t quite enough Saturday afternoon, Dec. 11, in Spartanburg, S.C.

Goltry, former All-Region offensive and defensive lineman at Bearden High School starting his second full season at defensive end for the national ranked Terriers, scooped up a Georgia Southern fumble and returned it 19 yards for a touchdown late in this NCAA Division I-FCS quarterfinal playoff game.

Wofford lost 23-20, ending the Terriers season 10-3.

Goltry, a 6-foot-1, 240-pound junior, recorded 31 total tackles while starting all 13 games in 2010.
