Jackson is All-America

Will Jackson, redshirt freshman offensive guard at Georgia Tech who was a two-time All-state lineman at Farragut High School (Class of 2009), has been named to three Freshman All-America teams in addition to earning Rivals.com ACC All-Freshman Team honors.

For his efforts blocking for the Yellow Jackets in 2010 (6-6 overall, 4-4 in ACC) and despite being slowed by an ankle injury much of the season, Jackson was named First Team Freshman All-America by Phil Steele and Honorable Mention Freshman All-America by Football News. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Jackson, 20, also was named Second Team Freshman All-America by Rivals.com.

ESPN.com and No. 26 by Scout.com ranked Jackson the No. 8 guard nationally as an FHS senior. Jackson also was a finalist for Class 5A Mr. Football Lineman award as a senior.
