Sullivan’s now open in Franklin Square

Sullivan’s Fine Food has opened in Franklin Square.

Owner Charles Irvine and his wife, Monica, opened the third Knoxville-area location of the restaurant in early March in the space that formerly housed Italian Market & Grill.

Monica said she enjoyed opening the restaurant and seeing the impact it had on the community.

“I think about 300 people have been involved in the opening in one way or another,” she said at a press conference at the restaurant, 9648 Kingston Pike, Friday, March 11.

“It just feels good to do that and to be here,” she added.

Charles said, “We think this will be a promising location for us.”

The other Sullivan’s locations are in Maryville and in Rocky Hill.

Charles said in a previous interview with farragutpress that he’d been looking at a West Knox County location for Sullivan’s for a while.

“I thought this was a great location and we were able to work with the folks at Franklin Square; they’re really great people,” Irvine said of the Franklin Square spot.

Sullivan’s serves American Nouveau food in a casual, contemporary atmosphere.

Charles said the restaurant cooks almost everything in-house, and takes great care and pride in choosing the right ingredients — even traveling to local and regional shops and businesses to buy center cut beef, grits and chicken.

“So everything might cost a little bit more, but I hope people can taste the difference,” Charles said.

“We just don’t want to cut our quality,” he added.

The restaurant’s dishes are moderately priced.

“We do steaks, seafood. We have our blue-plate section of our menu, which is comfort food. We offer 14 different vegetables in our side dishes. We specialize in our salads,” Charles said.

The Franklin Square location offers a renovated interior space, including a banquet room that will seat about 50. It also has a contemporary atmosphere, featuring special metalwork art designed by the restaurant’s architect.

Sullivan’s is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is closed Sundays.
