Bass to keynote Farragut West Knox Chamber breakfast

The ever-popular forensic anthropologist and author Dr. Bill Bass will return for a Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce speaker series breakfast Tuesday, April 5.

“He is entertaining; he is knowledgeable. He is humorous and he is intriguing,” Chamber president and CEO Bettye Sisco said.

“He’s not CSI. He’s the real thing,” she added.

This is the fourth year the Chamber has hosted Bass for a breakfast. Sisco said he remains one of her most popular speakers.

“He’s one of our very favorite guests,” Sisco said.

“We’ve had students from middle school and high school want to come see him and sneak out of school to do it,” she joked.

The speaker series breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Fox Den Country Club. Tickets are $25 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday, March 25.

Attendees can purchase a signed copy of Bass’s latest book, “The Bone Yard” — written with Jon Jefferson under the pseudonym Jefferson Bass — at the event with cash or check.

“Jon is the storyteller and Dr. Bass is the scientific genius behind it all,” Sisco said.

Jefferson won’t be in attendance, but Bass will be signing books following the breakfast.

Proceeds from ticket sales for the event go to support Child Advocacy, the Chamber’s charity of choice for this event, as well as the Chamber’s scholarship program and other events.
