Praise for ‘Good Samaritan’

I would like to share with you something that happened very recently that is very positive about our community. I am the director of the C.A.R.E. Food Pantry with Farragut Christian Church. As you know, Second Harvest was flooded several weeks ago damaging many of the food products. Our pantry relies heavily on purchases from Second Harvest along with donations from our church members and the community.

Two weeks ago Friday, a man stopped by the church office because he had noticed the food pantry sign on Thursday evening. He asked if we were affected by the situation at Second Harvest and our secretary told him we were. He left to go shopping for items for the pantry. While our secretary was in another part of the building, the man returned and dropped off many bags of groceries filling our collection bin. We do not know the man’s name, but we are very grateful to this “Good Samaritan” in our community. I hope he does read the paper so that he knows we appreciate his act of kindness, which helps to feed the 30 families in our community that use our pantry each month. Perhaps this will encourage each of us to look for opportunities to help one another.
