• Mark Snyder, former Bearden All-state basketball and baseball star (Class of 1982), had his basketball jersey number (31) raised to the rafters. Snyder was honored during a ceremony at BHS prior to the Bulldogs’ Feb. 11 boys game versus archrival Bearden. Snyder finished No. 3 all-time in BHS rebounds (980), No. 5 in field goals made (666) and No. 6 in points scored (1,644).

• 18th Annual Herman Gettelfinger Bass Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 2, on Fort Loudoun Lake. All proceeds benefit Helen Ross McNabb Center and are 100 percent tax-deductible.  Grand prize is $10,000 based on 150 paid boats. • Annual spring tennis leagues for junior players ages 5 to 17 in Oak Ridge begins Monday, April 4. Leagues will include evening and daytime singles and doubles.
