through the lens

Town leaders recently formed a committe to investigate the possibility of the Town establishing a community center for its residents.

One of the sites that has been mentioned by the community several times is the old Kroger grocery located next to Farragut Wine & Spirits off Kingston Pike. The parking lot for this property plays host to the annual Farragut Business Alliance Taste of Farragut event.

The community center subject more recently was discussed at the Town CIP workshop.

Do you think the Town should invest in a community center? If so, how should it be funded? It is estimated to cost more than $13 million. Where should it be located? Are you willing to be taxed in order to have a community center?
