BHS Softball 3-1 last week

With three wins early last week, Bearden Softball managed to bring a break-even 5-5 District 4-AAA record into this week’s action.

The Lady Bulldogs began with a doubleheader home sweep of West, 7-1, 7-2, Monday, April 11.

“I think Jessie [Goodson] threw a one-hitter both games, she pitched really well,” BHS head coach Leonard Sams said. “I think Kiarra [Freeman] went 3-for-3 [at the plate] in the first game, and 2-for-3 in the second game. She had two big games that day.”

One day later came a 6-5 victory at Heritage. “Jesse gave up only two earned runs, she pitched very well,” Sams said, adding Danielle Willis went 3-for-3 “and I think Sara Burklin went 2-for-3 that game.”

The week ended with a 9-5 loss at 4-AAA power Maryville Wednesday, April 13. “Kiarra again had another good day,” Sams said.
