• Youth ages 13 and under are invited to 27th annual Bob Watt Youth Fishing Rodeo from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 7, at Anchor Park, 11730 Turkey Creek Road, for a morning of fishing and competing for prizes in various categories. Registration will begin on site at 9 a.m. with fishing to follow from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Town of Farragut will provide bait (any type may be used). • Eastern TN Chapter of Alzheimer's Association is sponsoring a “take off” event at Gettysvue Golf and Country Club from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, May 12, as up to 3,000 golf balls fall from a helicopter over a specific hole on the driving range. • Bearden High School Alumnus Bert Bertelkamp will serve as honorary host for 9th annual Bulldog Classic Golf Tournament, Thursday, May 12, at Willow Creek Golf Course. • 2011 Pat Summitt Golf Tournament, benefiting Helen Ross McNabb Center, will be held Monday, May 2, at Cherokee Country Club. Foursome teams are invited to enter the tournament and attempt to win prizes each round plus a chance to play golf with Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball head coach Pat Summitt.  Tournament features a select drive format; including one best gross ball of foursome and one best net ball of foursome. • Town of Farragut Parks and Leisure Services Department invites community members ages 13 and up to participate in its 3rd Annual Kickball Tournament set to begin at 1 p.m., Sunday, June 5, at Mayor Bob Leonard Park off Watt Road. • The 27th Wellness Center Dogwood Classic 5K Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at the west end of Cherokee Boulevard in Sequoyah Hills. Race start is 8 a.m. for all 5K participants. Race day registration and packet pick-up will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:45 a.m. in race tent adjacent to far west end parking lot of Cherokee Boulevard. • In an otherwise dismal weekend performance by his Tennessee Volunteers Baseball team April 29-May 1, freshman catcher Ethan Bennett, ex-Farragut Admirals star, ended a three-game series against Vanderbilt in Nashville with five hits (.455 average), including his first home run in Southeastern Conference play, along with an RBI double. Bennett’s Vols, however, were swept by the top-10 nationally ranked Commodores: 10-1 Friday, 10-1 Saturday and 19-3 Sunday.
