• University of the Cumberlands presented Kate Sexton of Knoxville with the Emma McPherson English Award during the 52nd Honors Day Convocation on Monday April 25. Kate is the daughter of John and Debra Sexton.

• Henry Wayne Mulkey, a 1998 graduate of Farragut High School, earned a master of science degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in December 2010. He currently is employed as an aerospace engineer with NASA’s propulsion branch at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.

• Randall Bright, son of Ronald and Sherry Bright of Knoxville, received the M.A. Cooley Memorial Music Scholarship, for students with special musical ability from Bryan College.
