Lady Ads fall in 9 innings, dropped to loser’s bracket

A classic post-season high school softball game didn’t add up to victory for Farragut.

A dropped tag at home plate, with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, may have been the difference Monday.

The Lady Admirals, No. 3 seed, lost in dramatic “walk-off” fashion, 6-4 in nine innings, to No. 2 seed and District 4-AAA Tournament host William Blount May 9.

“Just a gutsy high school game,” FHS head coach David Moore said. “Kaci [Murr] pitched a gutsy game.”

Trailing 3-1 in the fifth inning, Farragut (22-12-1 after the loss) got a Baylee Williams two-RBI double to tie the game. Williams later scored on a throwing error.

Madison Gray added two hits, including a double.
