Mayor touts Costco interest in Farragut


For Farragut to grow financially, a new image must take hold to develop underutilized historic assets and welcome new business.

Yet with all his talk of building Sales Tax revenue within Farragut — 60 percent of all Town revenue — Mayor Ralph McGill was anxious to point out a $60,000 revenue reduction spanning a 12-month period.

Featured speaker during Concord-Farragut Republican Club’s monthly meeting Thursday, May 5, at Seasons Café, McGill said the Town still fights a business unfriendly image that is hampering growth.

“Whether that’s true or not, you’ve got to deal with the consequences of that kind of image,” McGill said, adding that Town leaders and employees should reach out to business.
