Hawks grab first-ever 3-AAA baseball crown

Hardin Valley Academy Baseball is officially on the map.

Head coach Kirk Renegar received a championship drenching from his players in front of a loud and populous crowd at Powell High School after his No. 4 seeded Hawks (20-14 overall, 10-6 in 3-AAA league play) beat the Oak Ridge Wildcats 8-6 for its first ever District 3-AAA Championship Wednesday, May 11.

Senior Nathan Richardson pitched four solid innings to record the win in relief of starter Joey Covell. “Nathan Richardson came in when things were shaky early and gave us a chance to win,” Renegar said.
