Bunts, submarine strikes
Defending state champ Webb returns to Murfreesboro with unusual formula


Sometimes perfectly placed bunts and submarine-delivered curveballs can be as effective as home runs and 95 mph fastballs.

Michael Lindstrom's bunt single, which began Webb School of Knoxville's do-or-die rally in the bottom of the seventh, fueled a dramatic Division II-A substate comeback victory.

I saw the first baseman playing back so I figured bunt it down first base [line], I've been doing that a lot this year, said Lindstrom, junior centerfielder, as the Spartans rallied from a 3-2 deficit against St. George's to win in walk-off fashion, 4-3, at Webb's Morris Field Saturday, May 21.
