BOMA passes budget, KAT funding questioned

Farragut’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the fiscal year 2012 budget without any material changes Thursday, June 9, but that didn’t mean Board members had no questions.

The Board approved the budget as-is on first reading with only Alderman Ron Honken dissenting.

Honken took issue with the $40,000 budgeted for Knox Area Transit’s Farragut express bus line, which runs from Farragut to downtown and back each day. The bus departs from a park and ride lot off Campbell Station Road, which the Town pays an additional $14,000 to use.

“I struggle with that,” Honken said.
