Wormsley to be ‘dad,’ son takes Webb reins


Clark Wormsley, a self-proclaimed “coach dad,” said he's missed out on many of his two sons' highlight baseball moments because he was head coach of Webb School of Knoxville varsity baseball.

“Instead of being 'coach dad,' as I have been with both my boys for years now, I just want to be dad,” added Wormsley a few days after stepping down as Spartans head coach with 436 career wins, a state title and three state runner-up finishes in 25 years at the helm.

What makes this decision much easier is simple: Jordan Wormsley, Clark's oldest son and current graduate assistant coach with SEC powerhouse Vanderbilt, will replace his father at Webb.
