• Hardin Valley Academy boys soccer, undefeated 2011 Class AAA state champions, led the way among All-Region 2-AAA honorees. Topping the list is MVP Nick Skoda, Hawks forward and leading scorer. Coach of the Year is HVA’s Mike McLean. Other first team Hawks are Dalton Guzman, Hayden Zelem and Garrett Hay. Bearden honorees are Conner McCarty, Adam Wojnar, Jamie White, Carter Wykoff, Seth Williams and Sean Yoder. Farragut first-team choices are Carlos Garcia, Logan Heidinger and Paul Neuefeind. Knoxville Catholic honorees are Tim Baker, Michael Bonfini and Suddy Hutchens. Second Team honorees were Hardin Valley’s Devon Cox, Joey Hinshaw and Brandon Roy; BHS Bulldog Andrew Fulcher and Catholic’s duo of Mark Mishu and Luke Wegryn.

• 27th Annual Pilot Fireball Moonlite Classic 5K Run/Walk will be held starting at 9 p.m., Sunday, July 3, at The University of Tennessee Veterinarian School at the corner of Neyland Drive and Joe Johnson. Race start is 9 p.m. for all 5K participants. Kids' 200-yard Dash will take place beginning at 8:15 p.m. Participants can register online at www.raceit.com or by downloading a form from www.ktc.org. • Legacy Parks Foundation is hosting a series of guided hikes on local trails this summer. Program is free of charge and appropriate for families who want to get outdoors and get active. Each hike is approximately 2-5 miles in length, starting at 9 a.m., Wednesday mornings through June and July. • Hardin Valley Middle School Baseball tryouts for rising sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders zoned for Hardin Valley Academy will begin at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 21, at Hardin Valley Academy's baseball field.
