• June 15: Knox County Sheriff’s Office dispatched an officer to Kohl’s department store in Farragut when a loss prevention officer from the store complained about a theft by an employee. The complainant stated he observed an employee, an East 2nd Avenue resident, take an Android tablet without paying for it. The complainant added Kohl’s is investigating previous thefts of merchandise and Kohl’s cash cards by the suspect on previous dates. The suspect allegedly purchased two pairs of sandals with stolen Kohl’s cash.

• June 15: A Ravenwood Circle woman reported to police that a worker she had prepaid to perform renovations in her home took the money and hasn’t shown up to finish the job. The complainant told police the suspect, a Kerr Road resident, had previously done work for her and had always treated her well. However, the suspect in this case was given two checks payable to the suspect to purchase materials — one check totaling $8,000.74 and a second for $1,095.32. The suspect paid out about $4,500 for material and has never returned to the job site or refunded the remainder of the money.


• June 15: Police were advised by a Hemingway Grove Circle woman of a possible theft from her TVA Credit Union checking account. The complainant told police she was checking her balance online and noticed several unauthorized withdrawals from the account. The complainant stated she checked with the credit union and was informed someone has been using her debit card to make ATM withdrawals. The total loss is $3,920.

• June 14: A Sonja Drive resident complained to police that someone had stolen a riding lawnmower from the residence. The complainant advised the mower was parked on a ramp under a cover.

• June 13: Police dispatched an officer to Kohl’s department store in Farragut on a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival the officer was told the suspect, a Lees Chapel Road resident, was observed taking about $30 in merchandise from the store without paying for it.
