Hardin Valley trio lead coaches’ All-state soccer honorees

Led by three members of Class AAA state champion Hardin Valley Academy, seven Westside boys soccer players recently earned All-state recognition as voted on by Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association coaches.

Senior Nick Skoda, HVA forward whose 38 goals helped the Hawks finish undefeated (19-0-5), was joined on the All-state team by senior defender Garrett Hay and junior midfielder Dalton Guzman.

Skoda will continue his soccer in college at Appalachian State University, Boone, N.C., while Hay will attend The University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, and will not play soccer according to HVA head coach Michael McLean.

Suffering just one loss in 2011 while winning the District 4-AAA league title, Bearden was led by a pair of seniors earning All-state honors: defender Seth Williams and midfielder Carter Wykoff.
