BOMA protests 2002 fed mandate


Farragut Mayor Ralph McGill took issue with an “unfunded mandate” from the federal government requiring local governments to upgrade street signs to a higher reflectivity standard at a Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting Thursday, June 23.

“Ultimately, this will require the purchase of new signs to replace every sign in the Town; that’s about 7,000,” McGill said.

“This is a horrible time to be requiring people to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on signs that you can see better.
