Hit-and-run chase ends in Farragut

Knoxville Police said a Good Samaritan followed a driver from the scene of a hit-and-run crash Wednesday and wound up subduing that driver with pepper spray.

Officers responded to the crash in the 9000 block of Kingston Pike at 12:03 p.m.

According to KPD’s Darryl DeBusk, Mary Johnson, 36, of Lexington, Ky., was driving a 2011 Audi Q5 when police say she was hit by Larry Claude Brashears, 32, who resides at 11101 Lake Ridge Road, Concord, who was driving a 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck.

The E-911 Center received a call about the crash from a witness, Peter Bolton, 51, who said he was following Brashears.
