FHS’s Simcox committs to UT

A.J. Simcox, rising senior shortstop with Farragut High School who led all TSSAA baseball players in hits (70) last season, has committed to The University of Tennessee.

A former batboy with the Vols whose father, Larry Simcox, was an assistant coach under former UT head coach Rod Delmonico, A.J. turned down Vanderbilt, Georgia and two-time defending College World Series champion South Carolina.

Also known for his defensive skills, A.J. was District 4-AAA regular season MVP who hit .470 last season, helping the Ads win the program's fourth straight Class AAA state crown.
