Town asks biz owners to get ‘freaky’

Farragut is inviting local non-profit organizations, community groups and businesses to participate in Freaky Friday Fright Nite, one of the largest family events in the Farragut area.

A few spots still remain for this year’s event, scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at Mayor Bob Leonard Park off Watt Road.

Deadline for reserving a treat station is Monday, Oct. 10, or when all spots are full.

At no charge, groups and businesses can reach the Farragut community by reserving a treat station and distributing candy and/or other “goodies” (company pencils, notepads, key chains, etc.) to area children as they safely trick-or-treat along the walk trail at the park.

Each group will be assigned an area along the trail, and participants are encouraged to dress in costume appropriate for a children’s event.

Groups should prepare enough treats for approximately 1,600 children. Businesses and organizations are welcome to share a spot; please indicate both names on the registration form for event signage. Groups are responsible for their own tables, chairs and decorations and are welcome to bring a small popup tent; however, all tents must be anchored by sandbags or other weights and cannot be secured in the ground.

A Town staff member will be at the park beginning at 9 a.m., Friday, to serve as security for any items a group sets up early on the day of the event. In addition, the Town will provide a sign at each station with the business name(s) and will conduct all games, as in past years.

Application forms can be accessed at or at Farragut Town Hall, 11408 Municipal Center Drive.

For more information or to receive a form by fax, contact special events and program coordinator Lauren Cox at or 865-966-7057.
