• WRIGHT, Mildred Francis Hawkins,
age 91, of West Knoxville, died Wednesday Aug. 31, 2011. She was a charter member of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension where she served as church financial secretary until her retirement at age 72, after nearly two decades of service. She was preceded in death by husband, James Irby “Jim” Wright; and brother, Kirby Hawkins Jr. She is survived her loving family: son, Kirby Benton “Benny” Wright; daughter, Theddi Wright Chappell; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a nephew. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday Sept. 16, 2011, at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension with entombment following in the church columbarium. • YANCEY, John Ryland,
age 28, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2011. John was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. Growing up he loved music, soccer and golf. John is survived by his mother, Joyce Yancey; father, Henry Yancey; sister and brother-in-law, Brooke and Kyle McDowell; John’s wife, Kristina and children, Samantha, Ryland and Ryan Yancey. • SHARP, Robert “Bob,”
of Farragut, formerly of LaFollette, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 8781. Mr. Sharp was an educator with Campbell County school system for 36 years. He will be remembered for his caring nature, his sense of humor, and his hearty laughter. Bob was an avid fisherman who could always find the best fishing holes. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert Estes Sharp Sr. and Jewell Sharp; several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Roux Sharp; daughter, LeEllen Green and husband, Darrell; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson; sisters, Sherry Bull and Mary Dee Bruce; five brothers-in-law; aunts, cousins, niece, and nephews; four stepchildren and their spouses and their 14 children. There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Farragut at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. John Neumann Catholic Church Fellowship Pavilion Building Fund, 645 St. John Court, Farragut, TN 37934. This would be such a fitting gift in Robert’s memory as fellowship was very important to him throughout his lifetime.
