• It’s 6:30 in the morning, and I’ve just observed two 18-wheelers exiting off Campbell Station Road and obviously trying to bypass the weigh station on the Interstate. It’s a real shame this has to happen, as these 18-wheelers just clog up our streets and create safety issues. Can’t law enforcement do something about this? Maybe we should change Farragut’s nickname from “Historic Farragut” to “Truckville, Tennessee.”

• I have lived in Fox Run subdivision for 18 years. This is regarding Everett Road closure. Eighteen months is not too long to wait. We’ve been waiting on this for years for this problem to be solved. And if anybody complains about it, yeah, that’s their right; but they are seriously spoiled if they think this is not progress. Thank you.

• Via e-mail: The bicyclists were out in force this weekend. While some of us are working to put food on our table, these folks seem to think their recreation time is more important than anything else. One rider made passing with a three-foot buffer next to impossible as he weaved back and forth from lane edge to centerline on Westland Drive. Another made a left-hand turn from the right edge of the right lane across the right and left lanes. No signal whatsoever. Why can’t these guys have license plates on their vehicles like everyone else so we can file a complaint as they do when we are accused of violating their three-foot barrier?

• Via e-mail: Glad to hear that Publix is coming to Farragut. I have always enjoyed shopping there when I’m in Florida. Only difference is the Publix in Florida has wine on the shelf and here they won’t. Bad for us.

• Via e-mail: Congratulations to both Farragut and Hardin Valley girls soccer teams on winning district championships. Keep it going.
