TVA announces lower fuel cost adjustment fees

According to TVA’s website, customers can expect to see a decrease in the total fuel cost on their energy bills in November.

“For billing periods beginning Nov. 1, 2011, the wholesale total monthly fuel cost [formerly called fuel cost adjustment] will change from the current amount of 2.332 cents per kilowatt-hour to 2.279 cents per kilowatt-hour,” the website states.

“This represents a decrease in the average wholesale price of 0.7 percent.

“Compared to October, the November wholesale fuel cost will decrease monthly residential electric bills between $0.50 and $1.00, depending on usage levels,” the website continues.

TVA reported the decrease largely is due to significantly lower fuel costs for September, mild temperatures, lower sales and higher hydro generation.
