High is Mr. Football

Charlie High, Christian Academy of Knoxville junior quarterback, has been named a Tennessee Titans Mr. Football honoree as Division I Class AA Back of the Year.



Mr. Football for Blance

Earning Tennessee Titans Mr. Football, Division II Class A Back of the Year honors is senior Caleb Blance, Webb School of Knoxville running back/defensive back.



Congleton top lineman

Brewer Congleton, Webb senior lineman, has earned the statewide honor of Tennessee Titans Mr. Football after being named Division II Class A Lineman of the Year.


Hoagís final home game

Senior Michael Hoag, two year starting offensive guard at Wake Forest and former Farragut High School star, played in his final home game Saturday, Nov. 26, in a 41-7 Vanderbilt victory against Wake.



Jackson aids Tech rushing

Helped by the blocking of two-year starting guard Will Jackson, former FHS star football lineman and Georgia Tech redshirt sophomore, the Yellow Jackets (8-4 record) rank No. 3 nationally in rushing yards per game (317).



Mitchell is All-Academic

Amanda Mitchell, Francis Marion University senior volleyball player and ex-Farragut High School star, has been named to 2011 Peach Belt Conference Volleyball All-Academic Team (3.72/biology major).



Hot Trotís top five 10k

Top five 10k overall finishers during Third Annual Hot to Trot 10k/5k Road Race and Fun Walk Thanksgiving Day on Parkside Drive: Geno Phillips (34:25.8), Travis Wilson (36:45.4), Kory Jessen (37:52.8), Kenta Nolin (38:31.9) and Blake Caldwell (39:40.6).



Best five in ĎTrotí 5k

John Greene won Hot to Trot overall 5k (16:33.9), followed by Sterling Smith (16:54.3), Sam Berg (18:00.6), Samuel Lariviere (18:00.6) and Patrick Beasley (18.23.6).



BHS girls start season 3-1

Bearden High School varsity girls basketball enters the week 3-1 after wins against Scott County (61-26, Nov. 19), Cleveland (51-37, Nov. 25) and Meigs County (65-53, Nov. 26).



Itís a 2-2 start for Bulldogs

With a 2-2 record entering the week, Bearden High School varsity boys basketball defeated Avery County, N.C. (116-60, Nov. 19) and Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett (69-55, Nov. 23).

-Farragut girls and boys varsity at Hardin Valley Academy, Thursday, Dec. 1; at Campbell County Friday, Dec. 2; home versus Lenoir City* Tuesday, Dec. 6.

-Hardin Valley Academy girls and boys varsity host Farragut, Dec. 1; at Anderson County,* Dec. 2.

-Bearden boys varsity host Morristown East, 8 p.m., Dec. 1; BHS boys and girls at Austin-East, Dec. 2; home versus William Blount,* Dec. 6.
