Predny joins Farragut Chamber staff

Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce welcomes its newest employee, Julie A. Predny, executive assistant.

Chamber president and CEO Bettye Sisco said of Predny, “We’re happy to have her.”

“She has a very strong background in accounting and office management and we’re thrilled to have her on board. I think she’s going to make a tremendous addition to our team,” she added.

Before coming to work at the Chamber, Predny was office manager at Johnson Architecture and was a part-time adjunct professor at ITT Tech.

“I really liked the fact that [the Chamber job] seemed to mesh a lot of things I’m already good at and love to do: the writing aspect, meeting tons and tons of people,” Predny said.

She joined the Chamber a little more than two weeks ago.

“I’m looking forward to the Holiday Open House. I really just have so enjoyed all the people I’ve met,” Predny said.

“I’ve enjoyed the fact that all the publicity and the feedback I’ve heard from people has been so largely positive — the fact that all of the members at all the networkings really enjoy being a part of it and feel they get something out of it, something valuable,” she added.

Predny said she and Bettye Sisco “clicked.”

“Bettye truly cares about every single one of the members and goes out of her way to make sure they’re happy, they’re satisfied. That says a lot to me,” Predny said.

Predny, a native of Long Island, N.Y., moved to the Knoxville area a little more than 10 years ago to finish an English degree at The University of Tennessee.

“It’s like being on permanent vacation upstate,” Predny said of her decision to stay.

“And the biscuits and gravy are much better,” she added with a laugh.
