Youth fall champs 2011

• The White Sox won CBFO 11-12 fall season championship.

• Farragut Dirt Dobbers 12-U softball team took second place at ISA Cumberland Mountain Blast Girls Fastpitch softball tournament in Crossville.

• Farragut Middle School varsity softball team tied for second in Knoxville Parks and Recreation 14U ASA Softball League.

• Farragut Middle School junior varsity softball team took second place during Knox County Middle School fall regular season and third place in county’s final season tournament.

• FC Alliance U15 Girls Black became first-ever Tennessee soccer team to earned membership into USYSA National Soccer League.

• CAK 7-year-olds were 2011 Knox County Metro Youth Football NFC champions with a 9-0-1 record.

• CAK's 10-year-old Warriors won 2011 Knox Metro Youth Football NFC championship, finishing a perfect 10-0.


BHS hospital gifts

Bearden softball team went to Children's Hospital Wednesday, Dec. 21, to hand out gifts to children ranging in age from 2 to 17.



KTC raises $800

Second Annual Knoxville Track Club Leftover Run, held Sunday, Dec. 11, raised $800 for the Empty Stocking Fund — $300 more than its raised in 2010.



Three Hawks win with pins

Though East Hamilton wrestling team defeated Hardin Valley Academy 57-24, three Hawks won individually with pins: David Vaigneur, 170; Jackson Beggs, 138, and Robby Goldshot, 145.



Bulldogs pin Bobcats

With a win against Farragut highlighting its season to date, Bearden wrestling managed one victory during Bearden Duals Friday, Dec. 23: a 42-24 decision versus Central included pins from Michael Avery, 285; Ben Kaemmerer, 120; Richard Jang, 138; Luis DeLaCruz, 160, and Tristan Majors, 195.
