Jobless claims at four-year low

• The U.S. Labor Department reported 352,000 people filed for initial unemployment benefits the second week of January, the fewest number of people filing for jobless claims since April 2008.

Burger King tests delivery

• According to USA Today, Burger King has begun testing home delivery of its food products at four of its restaurants in the greater Washington, D.C., area, with an eye on expanding beyond that.


Cracker Barrel founder dies

• Cracker Barrel founder Dan Evins, of Lebanon, passed away Jan. 14 at the age of 76.



GreenBank becoming Capital

• GreenBank merged into Capital Bank, N.A., last September, and GreenBanks around the area are beginning to transition to the Capital Bank brand.
