• LINDELL, Carol Jean,
age 76, of Knoxville, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 13, 2012, at her home. Carol was born to the late Alvin and Midred Wanner on May 30, 1935, in Joliet, Ill. Her early years of education were in a one-room schoolhouse, followed by graduations from Peotone High School and North Central College in Naperville, Ill. She married Gene Lindell in 1971 and they became a family with her children, Scott and Kimberly Ahlborn, and lived in Kankakee, Ill., before relocating to Knoxville in 1981. Carol’s professional career started in Illinois with Armour Pharmaceutical Company where she held various positions in Quality Control and R&D. After relocating to Knoxville, she joined the family of Plasma Alliance, Inc. where Carol retired after 40 years of service. Her first priority and passion was her children, then her husband, friends, cats and travel. Many of her closest friends were co-workers and she enjoyed friendships of 20 to 35 years. Carol always had a cat for a pet and also collected about 700 cat figurines throughout her travels. She and her husband traveled extensively in the United States and Europe, along with 25 cruises. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Mildren Wanner; brother, Al Wanner; and niece, GinaWanner. She is survived by her husband, Gene Lindell; children, Scott Ahlborn and Kimberly Mailoux; four grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. • SUMMITT, Margaret Ann Rosenbaum,
age 71, of Lenoir City passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 10, 2012, at Parkwest Medical Center. She was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. Margaret was a loving and devoted mother and friend. She was retired from Lenoir City Utilities Board. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Nora Rosenbaum; brother-in-law, Colyan Taylor; and sister-in-law, Sue Jane Rosenbaum. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Jeffrey Klatt; a step granddaughter; sister, Barbara Taylor; brother, James R. “Dick” Rosenbaum; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; beloved companion and “sidekick” her dog, Pootie. A Celebration of Life was Friday in Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with the Rev. George Seay and the Rev. Jon Henson officiating. Graveside service was Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery. • GREENE, Mildred Marie Makemson,
age 92, of Knoxville, formerly of Danville, Ill., passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 14, 2012, at Tennova Residential Hospice in Halls. Mildred was born April 9, 1919, in Danville, Ill., daughter of Earl and Edna Makemson. She married Frank E. Greene on Aug. 15, 1936. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a talented seamstress, craftsman, and previously owned and operated a ladies dress shop and cosmetic studio. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years; her two sisters, Helen and Edith; and her brother, Carl. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Jacqwelyn Turner; son, Larry Greene and daughter-in-law Janet; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Hubert Makemson; sister, Patsy Nabors; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life was Tuesday, Jan. 17, in Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Dr. Jeff Sledge officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Forest Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. • WELLS, Anderson L. “Roy,”
age 81, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012. He retired from Southern Cast Stone where he was a certified welder. Roy was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Seldon Rufus Wells and Alberta Long Wells Goolsby; and sister, Mildred Gilliland and husband, Glen; sister, Marie Coker and husband, Amos; and sister Barbara Pickens and husband, Fred. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty; two stepchildren, Brenda Farris and husband, Oliver, and Gary Williams and his wife, Martha; three step-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren. • TEXIDOR, Phillip William,
age 25, of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday afternoon, Jan. 12, 2012. Phillip was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was an employee of Roane County Medical Center Pathology Laboratory. Phillip enjoyed making short films and working with his computer. He is loved and survived by his mother, Karen Adams; father, Cesareo Texidor; brothers, Michael, Joseph, Evan, Julian and Cesar Texidor; sisters, Jana Eatherly, Noelle and Mayabella Texidor; grandmother, Janet Powell; several aunts and uncles. • RIGGS, Barbara Tutterow,
age 78, of Knoxville passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2012, at her home. Barbara was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She was retired from Knoxville City Schools. She was active in the Republican Committee, running for various local political offices. Barbara was Tennessee State Mother in 2001 and Merit State Mother in 1980 and 1986. She loved traveling, her home, her family and watching her soap operas. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, David William Riggs; parents, Raymond and Hilda Tutterow; sister, Margaret Hatfield; and brothers-in-law, Harold Hatfield Sr, Roger Woody and Ralph Riggs. She is survived by her daughter, Sande Riggs; sister, Mary Ann Woody; sister-in-law, Dorothy Craig; special nieces, Gwen Hatfield Marshall and Kalli Ann Woody; special nephew, Michael Hatfield; many other nieces and nephews. • BREEDEN, Michael,
age 40, of Knoxville passed away Saturday morning at his home. Michael attended West High School. He worked with his very close friend from childhood, Tyler Farris, in the excavating business. He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Wayne Breeden. He is survived by his mother, Linda Jean King Breeden Wagner; sisters, Jan Breeden and Marsha Breeden; a niece, two nephews, and beloved by his many cousins, aunts, uncles and pups ( Rocky and Cynthia); special friends, Ed Bennett and Roy Mutta.
