Webb, Sarmadi join in holy matrimony
Catherine Marie Webb and Paykon Homayoun Sarmadi joined in Holy Matrimony during a 5:45 p.m., June 18, 2011 ceremony in Blacksburg, Va.

Dr. Dennis Schnecker officiated.

The bride’s parents are David and JoAnna Webb. She is the granddaughter of the late Joseph H. Webb of Hattiesburg, Miss., Louise Holifield Webb, step-grandmother, Nettle Williams Webb, Gertude Render Harris Black, Augustus Sheldon Harris and step-grandfather, Arthur Guy Black, all of Laurel, Miss.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Farragut High School and a 2003 graduate of Maryville College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology. She also earned a master’s degree in biological sciences from Virginia Tech in 2006. She currently is a freshman biology laboratory coordinator for Virginia Tech.

The groom’s parents are Homayoun and Andrea Sarmadi of Leesburg, Va. He is the grandson of the late Ali Akbar and Perri Ahmadi Sarmadi of Tehran, Iran, and Ute Seybold Midkiff and Robert Donovan Midkiff of Radford, Va.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Hidden Valley High School in Roanoke, Va., and a 2011 graduate of Virginia Tech where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He currently is employed with AmeriCorps VISTA intern architect, Community Housing Partners Corp., in Christiansburg, Va.

Maid of Honor was Kathleen Edwards and Martron of Honor was Cyndi Lyle Richter of Normalville, Pa. Best Man was Kayvon Sarmadi of Falls Church, Va.

The bride’s wedding party members were Tatiana Midkiff and Jennifer Griggs of Lynchburg, Va., Celeste Tumis Webb of Brentwood, Michele Rodriquez Webb of Chattanooga and Sara Moore Arnold of Virginia Beach, Va. The groom’s wedding party members were Omid Sarmadi of Leesburg, Va., Casey Bennington of McLean, Va., Brandon Perigen of Blacksburg, Mark Webb of Knoxville, Stephen Webb of Brentwood and Chris Webb of Chattanooga.

Flower girls and ring bearer were Sheeva Sarmadi of Leesburg, Anna Corinne Webb of Knoxville and Chandler Webb of Brentwood.

The couple honeymooned in La Romana, Dominican Republic, and now reside in Blacksburg.
