• PAGE, Billy Joe,
age 86, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Detroit, MI, died on Saturday January 26, 2013. A faithful husband, beloved father and grandfather, friend and mentor to many. His generous love for all taught us how to love one another. He was an accomplished surgeon, inspired artist and talented athlete. Dr. Page was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lucy Page and brother, Gene. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann; children, Bill Page (Carla) of Chelsea MI, Rick Page (Kathy) of Birmingham MI, Patti Bucci (Gary) and Peggy Gooch (Michael) all of Knoxville along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family is so grateful to the Lord Jesus for the countless ways we have been blessed by having Dad, Papa, Granddaddy in our lives and for the peace in knowing that he is in the presence of his Heavenly Father. Graveside services and interment will be held at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 220 East Gov John Sevier Highway with full military honors conferred by the U.S. Navy and the East Tennessee Veteran’s Honor Guard on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Gooch officiating. • MENENDEZ, Rose Ellen,
age 76, of Knoxville passed away Sunday evening, January 27, 2013 at Parkwest Medical Center. Rose was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She was one the founders of the Omni Women’s Club of Knoxville and was an avid bridge player. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was preceded in death by her son, David Menendez. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Menendez; children, Cindy Organ and husband Jerry of San Antonio, TX, Garry Menendez and wife Lynn of Knoxville, Sue Madison and husband Tommy of Monroe, CT, Marianne Stephansen and husband Andy of Knoxville; grandchildren, David Organ, Andrea and Elizabeth Menendez, Drew and Adam Madison, Erin Stephansen; twin sister, Mary Kerere of Silver Spring, MD; brother, Frank Bender of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel with a Christian Wake Service to follow at 7 p.m. A Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church. • COX, Albert Bernard Jr. (Buddy),
age 65, of Farragut, formerly of Memphis passed away Sunday morning, January 27, 2013 at Baptist Health Care Center in Lenoir City. Buddy was a member Farragut Presbyterian Church and was a former member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Bernard Cox Sr. and Blondell Blackburn Cox; nephew, Mark Powell. Buddy is survived by his sisters, Brenda Moore of Farragut, Norma Cook and husband Joseph G. of Knoxville, Marilyn Powell and husband Edward L. of Memphis; several nieces and a nephew. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis followed by funeral services at 11. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice. • AUSTIN, Mary Catherine,
age 77, of Lenoir City, formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 24, 2013. Catherine was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin C. Austin and precious granddaughter, Amanda Stevens. She is survived by her children and spouses, Charlene and Ernest Stevens, Carl and Debbie Austin, Diana Kiser, Mark and Cindy Austin and Tony and Anna Austin; 12 grandchildren, Marcia Jackson, Charles Stevens, Emily Austin, Brooks Austin, Erika Kiser, Danielle Kiser, Jim Hill, Joey Hill, Jacob Austin, Nicky Austin, Isaac Austin and Gabriella Austin; sister, Eleanor Roper, brothers, Frank Elkins and Jim Elkins; several nieces and nephews.
