Matthew Walter of Concord was recognized as an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America May 30.
Matthew is the son of John Walter and Gail Marie of Concord.
The Eagle Scout Court of Honour took place at St. John Neumann Catholic School. Special guests at the ceremony included U.S. Rep. John Duncan Jr., R-District 2; State Rep. Ryan Haynes, R-District 17; former pastor the Rev. John Dowling and Mr. George LeCrone Sr. of Catholic Committee on Scouting.
Matthew joined the Boy Scouts in 2003 at age 11. He passed the Board of Review to become an Eagle Scout at age 17.
His service project was to plan, coordinate and supervise construction of four heavy duty wooden tables for the picnic pavilion at the neighborhood pool at View Harbour subdivision in Concord.
Matthew is a member of Boy Scout Troop 15.
He is a member of St. John Neumann Church in Farragut.
