Pedestrian struck, killed by semi- trailer on Parkside Drive Tuesday
An early morning tragedy resulted in a roughly four-hour shutdown of a stretch of Parkside Drive.
An as-yet-unnamed pedestrian (as of press deadline Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 31) was struck by
a semi-trailer and killed early Tuesday morning on Parkside Drive.
According to a report from Kimberly Glenn, Knox County Sheriff’s Office’s communications director, the pedestrian was struck in the 11400 block of the Parkside Drive/Turkey Cove area just after 4:30 a.m.
The area was closed until about 8:30 a.m.
Identification of the victim had not been released pending next-of-kin notification, Glenn added.
