Audrina, 8, qualifies for equestrian U.S. championship

Audrina McCall, 8, of Farragut, recently qualified for the United States Equestrian Federation National Pony Finals Championships, which will be held Tuesday through Sunday, Aug. 8-13, in Lexington, Kentucky.

The National Championship, presented by Honor Hill Farms, “includes the most talented riders and ponies in the country and qualifying at only 8 years of age is impressive,” a press release stated.

Described in that same release as “a talented third-generation national equestrian who has excelled in the sport at a very young age earning notability for her exceptional skill set,” Audrina and her pony, New Moon (nicknamed “Willie” and owned by Amelia Gatlin of Loudon), qualified in May for the national event.

The duo also recently competed in the United States Pony Club Regional Rally in Kentucky Horse Park, where they earned the top equitation awards and team awards in eventing and show jumping.

Additionally, Audrina is a national equestrian vaulter, having competed in the 2022 USEF National Championship for equestrian vaulting, and also is a member of the United States Pony Club.

When she isn’t at the barn riding, horse showing or playing with her friends, Audrina enjoys playing soccer and softball and spending time with her family — especially her parents, Lindsay and Kyle McCall, and 6-year-old brother, Ace — and the family’s Labrador retrievers.

“She also enjoys volunteering with her HABIT Dogs at the Farragut schools and improving the community volunteering with her Pony Club,” the release further stated.

Looking ahead to when Adrian grows up, “she wants to ride in the Olympics and be a veterinarian,” the release stated.
